Goals

To help "professionalize" the recycling area, inspiring volunteers to be more invested in the recycling program.

Safety and Tool Kits

Safety First

  • All volunteers in recycling need to wear eye protection and gloves.
  • All volunteers need to be trained on safe practices, inluding eye protection and gloves.
  • Each volunteer will receive a "kit" at the beginning of their shift, and return it at the end of their shift.

Safety Kit Contents

  • gloves
  • eye protection
  • smock

Program Structure

Basic Recycling

  • System Deconstruction
    • open/vaccuum case
    • remove drives (MOTORS & DRIVES)
    • remove CBs/MBs (ADVANCED RECYCLING)
    • remove wiring and cords (WIRES or CORDS)
    • Remove fans & speakers (FANS/SPEAKERS)
    • remove plastic (PLASTIC)
    • remaining steel (STEEL)
  • Power Supply Deconstruction
    • remove wire bundle (WIRES)
    • remove metal case cover (STEEL)
