Free Geek can not operate without crucial supplies. The following list covers all the most frequently used supplies. Stuff that we need, like, right now can be found on the Supply Run page. A "locked" cabinet with special supplies is outside Monkey House. See Mary-Kate, Richard and Kathie for keys.

General Office Supplies

  • Pencils
  • Pens (blue and black ink)
    • Sharpies
    • Ball-point pens
  • Staples - standard
  • Rubber bands (all sizes) -- PURCHASE ON EVERY RUN
  • Big erasers
  • Tape refills (#5910)
  • Regular tape (i.e. scotch tape)
  • Thumb tacks
  • 8 1/2" x 11" Copy/Fax/Printer paper
  • Money Receipts
  • Paper rolls for cash register printers
  • rolls of receipt tape for Credit Card machine (two-ply 3in x 85ft, white on top, yellow on bottom)
  • black and red ribbon cartridges for credit card machine (same as for an Epson ERC 23 printer)
  • Postage stamps
    • multiple books of "forever stamps"
    • (order new book when supplies get down to six stamps)
  • File folders
  • Note pads (all sizes)
  • Envelopes (#10)
  • 3" Binders for accounting (Get at SCRAP)
    • these are often donated to FG & go straight to free table! watch for them)
  • Dry-erase markers
  • Scissors
  • Packing tape-thin, cheap, brown or clear
  • Sticky labels for Eval:
    • 2 x 4" (Avery numbers ending in 63)
    • 1 1/3 x 4" (Avery numbers ending in 62)
    • Pricing labels for store (Monarch 1136)
    • Round orange labels for tested monitors

First Aid Supplies

  • Band-aids
  • Rubber gloves
  • Disinfectant solution/s, alcohol, hydrogen peroxide.
  • Headache and minor pain treatment sources
  • Large First Aid Kit Contents
    • Advil & non-aspirin pain reliever
    • Absorbent cotton (2 small boxs)
    • Sterile gauze pads (1 box of 28)
    • Instant cold compress
    • Band-aids
    • 1 large gauze pad
    • 1 bottle of saline solution for eye cleaning
    • 1 large bottle of eye wash solution
    • 1 pair of gauze cutting scissors
    • 1 large box of alcohol swabs
    • 1 large box of ear plugs
  • Safety Goggles

Cleaning Supplies

  • Hand soap (liquid antibacterial)
  • Dish washing liquid (Bi-O-Kleen)
  • Simple Green cleaner for build
  • Sponges
  • Rubber gloves
  • Disinfectant cleaner-bleach or Pine Sol.
  • Large Trash bags

Miscellaneous Supplies

  • Free Geek flyers
  • Toilet paper (replace when down to 8 rolls)
  • Hand towels (paper and regular)
  • CD-R disks for CD Burner
  • Large light bulbs-floresent
  • Regular small light bulbs
  • Coffee and creamer and sugar

Sources of supplies

The main source of most frequently used supplies is listed below. Purchasing of supplies can't be based solely on the "cheapest" price. We must, first, adhere to our mission of efficient e-waste. This means bio-degradable as well as those products made from recycled materials. Where ever possible, sales should be utilized as well as "bulk" purchasing if it is cost efficient.   • Credit card machine ribbon and 2-ply paper receipt rolls - Office Depot


The Action Committee oversees many areas which includes supplies. Any large supply purchase must be reviewed and approved by this committee.
