  • Gizmo Types for thrift store database. Email everyone that Richard said it was fine to add different categories once we (A.T. and Sales come to an agreement on what to change). He pointed out that we will have to train people in the store on how to categorize things.
  • Cell Phones
    • fiddle with pricing criteria and send final draft to store.
    • create a box of tested phones for online sales
    • find a day to put chargers into store once a week and train another A.T. instructor how to do this. Wednesdays.

Pricing Criteria
  • It is a working phone = $5
  • Bluetooth capable = $5
  • Takes a SIM card = $5
  • Micro SD Card Slot = $5
  • Camera = $5
  • Video = $5
  • Email = $5
  • Wifi = $5
  • GPS = $5
  • Smart Phone = Look it up on eBay and charge 3/4 of the highest completed listing

(anything with a touch screen, or other fanciness)

(I am not sure this would really give us close to the market value on a phone. Cell phones are part of the fashion industry, their price on the market depends on the amount of advertising a company does.) I could look at 5 phones currently in the thrift store and compare what we priced them at using ebay and what the above criteria would set it at.

  1. Blackberry 7250 Using pricing criteria $40 Our price was $30
  2. LG 8500 Using pricing criteria $40 Our price $35
  3. Samsung SGH-437 Pricing criteria $30 Our price $15
  4. Motorola w755 (with a broken camera) Pricing criteria $25 Our price $8 (Goes for around $60 on eBay)
  5. Motorola q9m Pricing criteria $45 (this was not priced yet, goes for around $100 on eBay)

Features brainstorm:

☐ Smart phone - (there is no industry approved definition of smart phone, so check this if the phone looks shiny and has most of the boxes below checked)
☐ Bluetooth
☐ GPS
☐ Micro SD slot
☐ Digital Camera
☐ Video
☐ ________ Service Provider
☐ Email
☐ Wifi
