This page is a dump of some frequently used responses when munging through the HardwareGrants queue. It will of course need to be updated frequently over time, I just got sick of typing similar things over and over.

First Responses

Hi _NAME,

My name is Sean and I'll be helping to shepherd your grant request. I'm writing to let you know that your request has been approved!

Standard Production

I've passed your request along to our Production department, and we'll have some systems set aside for you soon (usually within a week or two from approval). Once they're ready, we'll get back in touch with you to set a time for you to come by our location and pick up the equipment

Laptop Requests

Unfortunately, we currently have a high-volume of requests for laptops and have instituted a waitlist. Our current estimated wait is approximately two months. However, your request has been submitted to our production queue and I will be in touch with you once the systems are ready to be picked up.

High Volume Requests

Since this is a request for substantial number of systems, it will take a little while for our production department to put the order together. Once they're ready, we'll message and arrange a time for you to come by our location so that we can officially disburse them to you.

Projector Requests

Projectors are infrequently donated to Free Geek, and accordingly we don't always have them available for grants. We do keep a standing list of requests for projectors, as we will occasionally receive refurbishable ones, but it's very difficult to estimate a time for when they will become available.

Partial Disbursements

However, we can immediately fill the rest of your grant request (_LIST_OF_REQUESTED_ITEMS). If you'd like, we can set a time this week or next for you to come by our location and pick up the equipment. Let me know what you think!

Big Monitor Requests

Most of the monitors we receive, and accordingly most of the monitors that are available for grants, tend to be somewhere between 15-17". We can occasionally facilitate larger sizes, but it's not always possible. Will that be acceptable?
