Build Sales Liason Volunteer Internship

• Job Title: Build – Sales Liason
• Hours Weekly: 18 hours/week
• Days Per Week: 4 days/week
• Length of Internship: 3 months with opportunity to extend after check-in
• Training: Orientation and Training Provided
• Free Geek Supervisors: Caitlin and Tony

Responsibilities

Build Room Instructor

• Stock/maintain supplies, such as hard drives, RAM, and optical drives
• Maintain good workflow including monitoring when to Build or QC, removing old systems from Build room, etc.
• Address technical problems related to hard drive formatters, monitors, printer, other peripherals, etc.
• Set up LCD monitors to test & move tested monitors to Store's storage
• Keep Build room organized including straightening, arranging, organizing shelves/racks

Thrift Store

• Merchandise (tidy, label, restock) items for sale in the store
• Possibly cashier in the store
• Eventually, greet customers, help them decide appropriate items to purchase, teach a small amount about software and hardware
• For longer-term interns who want to: systems improvement, volunteer coordination, oddball testing

Desired Qualifications

• Advanced hardware knowledge and strong understanding of Free Geek Build Program
• Detail-oriented
• Not routine-averse
• Good prioritization skills
• Understanding of current electronics market a plus

In addition

The ideal candidate will be able to work well under stress and maintain a positive attitude in a relatively chaotic setting. The candidate will not be afraid to ask questions, but will be able to work on projects almost entirely without supervision. The candidate will be able to remain flexible as Free Geek grows and changes.
