Community Partnerships Volunteer Intern

Note: the Community Partnerships Intern is a special project internship. Free Geek would like to expand into this particular area, and this intern will be learning alongside staff.
Job Title: Community Partnerships intern |
Responsibilities
- Walk around to and greet local businesses: tell them about Free Geek and its programs
- Research neighborhood associations, business associations, memberships, and affiliations that Free Geek could join and/or partner with
- Make phone calls to local businesses to inform them about Free Geek and its services
- Possibly lead groups through neighborhoods or to local businesses to advertise Free Geek
- Call businesses which have previously donated hardware to encourage them to donate again
Desired Qualifications
- Outgoing
- Organized
- Familiar with spreadsheets and word processing
- Previous experience with local businesses, non-profits, and/or neighborhood associations a plus
In addition:
The ideal candidate will be able to work well under stress and maintain a positive attitude in a relatively chaotic setting. The candidate will not be afraid to ask questions, but will be able to work on projects with minimal supervision. The candidate will be able to remain flexible as Free Geek grows and changes.
