Configure printer

The freekbox uses CUPS for printing, but the configuration system has changed a great deal over the various versions of the Freek Box. Template:Outdated The Linux Foundation maintains a very healthy database of compatible printers here.

Lucid Lynx (Ubuntu 10.04)

• Have the printer connected to the computer and powered on
• Go to System>Admininstration>Printing in the menu
• Click on "New Printer"
• The printer should be listed on the left. Select it and click continue.
• Select the appropriate printer make and model on the following pages. There may be additional configuration options.
• Give the printer a name

HPLIP

If your Hewlett-Packard printer is not supported by your Linux system, you can download the latest version of HPLIP (HP Linux Imaging and Printing) software from:
