Downtime Policy

This policy was approved and adopted by the Technocrats Committee on 14 Jan 2012.

Before any work is begun on servers running internal services and/or storage, the following conditions must be met:

• At least two full days notice to paidworkers@ with the following information:
  • Schedule of downtime (rough estimate),
  • List of services and servers affected,

After work has begun on the servers in question, a progress report should be appended to http://status.freegeek.org, indicating status and return of services.
