Paid Internship Announcement: Front Desk
Our mission: FREE GEEK is a not-for-profit community organization that recycles used technology to provide computers, education, internet access, and job skills training to those in need in exchange for community service.
Job Title: Front Desk Intern
Schedule: 20 hours per week over four or five afternoons; schedule somewhat
negotiable.
Length of internship: 3 - 6 months, with 3 month review
Qualifications Desired: Must speak English, enjoy talking to people and thrive in a fast-paced
environment. Money-handling experience and fluency in Spanish a plus.
Training: Orientation and training provided.
Responsibilities (may include some or all of the following):
A broad range of receptionist/customer service tasks, including, but not limited to: answering the phone, greeting visitors, accepting and processing donations, processing the till at the end of the day, accomplishing volunteer intake, logging in volunteers' hours, checking and passing on phone messages, signing volunteers up for shifts and classes, making reminder telephone calls to those on the schedule, and doing data entry.
Must be reliable, and always on time, and honest. Must also be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and a hard worker.
Compensation:
Pay is $8.80 an hour.
