Laptop Instructor Responsibilities

Beginning a Shift

• Look over testing machines on the shelves; organize and stash them in the appropriate places,
• Determine laptop intake and organize piles of Evals and Builds,
• Stock up on wiped HDDs.

During a Shift

• Image wiped HDDs,
• Sort incoming laptops, power supplies & accessories,
• Work through Recycler's box as necessary,
• Stock labels/documentation as necessary,
• Sort/cull backstock as necessary:
  • RAM,
  • Parts machines,
  • Optical drives.
• Test & sort incoming PCMCIA cards,
• Cart recycling back to the warehouse:
  • Tally Covered vs. Uncovered laptops,
  • Prepare batteries.

Ending a Shift

• Organize and straighten the work area,
• Lock up laptops that are not being tested,
• If AM, take unwiped HDDs over to Advanced Testing,
• If PM, stash unwiped HDDs in the closet.
