Job Title: Office Support Volunteer Intern |
Responsibilities
- Greet donors and volunteers warmly
- Process donations and create receipts and invoices
- Direct volunteers to their stations, check on new volunteers at least once
- Log volunteer hours, sign volunteers up for shifts
- Answer questions about Free Geek pleasantly and knowledgeably
- Retrieve voice mail messages and return calls
- Answer incoming calls and deliver messages to staff effectively
- Make reminder calls to class attendees before day of class
- Update and print class lists and shift sign-up
- Complete advanced data entry
- Give tours and sign up new volunteers
- Explain our volunteer programs succinctly
- Make copies of front desk documents and maintain surplus
- Help with filing as necessary
- Assist the front desk as necessary
Desired Qualifications
- Good phone skills
- Experience with moderately formal email etiquette
- Good public persona
- Interest in and ability to learn and work with Linux desktop managers and programs
In addition:
The ideal candidate will be able to work well under stress and maintain a positive attitude in a relatively chaotic setting. The candidate will not be afraid to ask questions, but will be able to work on projects with minimal supervision. The candidate will be able to remain flexible as Free Geek grows and changes.
