There are three basic types of talks that a given on behalf of Free Geek:
- Talking with no visual aids
- Using a slide show
- Live computer recycling demonstration
There is a recorded version of a talk that Oso gave at the City Club of Portland in May 2005. [1]
Talking about Free Geek is a lot like giving the tour. For most general audiences, this is perfect. The basic talking points:
- Introduction (sometimes you are introduced, so skip this step if that is the case): "Hi, my name is <name>, and I am the <widget coordinator/build volunteer or whatever>." -- if time permits, tell a little about yourself, and how you got involved with Free Geek.
