Printer Island has a machine set aside for network card testing.
1. Locate the network card slot on the back of the machine.
2. Remove any card currently inserted.
3. Put the new card into the machine.
4. Plug the network cable into the card.
5. Use the menu button on the printer to navigate to EIO 2 JetDirect Menu.
6. Use the item button to navigate to CFG Network.
7. Use the value button to navigate to YES and press the select button.
9. Use the item button to navigate to CFG TCP/IP.
10. Use the value button to navigate to YES and press the select button.
11. Use the item button to navigate to IP Byte 1. Use the value button to change the number
and the select button to confirm your choice. The item button will navigate to the next byte.
You will need to configure all the following bytes as follows.
IP Byte 1: 192
IP Byte 2: 168
IP Byte 3: 2
IP Byte 4: 43
SM Byte 1: 255
SM Byte 2: 255
SM Byte 3: 255
SM Byte 4: 0
GW Byte 1: 192
GW Byte 2: 168
GW Byte 3: 2
GW Byte 4: 1
LG Byte 1: 0
LG Byte 2: 0
LG Byte 3: 0
LG Byte 4: 0
12. Open a terminal on one of the computers.
13. Enter the following command.
ping 192.168.2.43
This will begin sending packets to the printer.
14. After a few packets have been sent, press ctrl + c.
15. If the card works there should be a 0% packet loss.
