Staff Retreat

Suggested topics for a staff retreat:

• Training ideas:
  • Project management
  • Volunteer management
  • General workload management
  • Better communication
    • formal (meeting notes, etc.) -- may be dealt with elsewhere
    • person to person (when things get difficult, too easy to avoid and become passive aggressive)
    • conflict resolution
• Visioning ideas
  • How to increase income to better compensate ourselves
  • Perhaps other "big picture" topics? (specify)

Most people seem to think we can take on two of the above, but not much more. One topic could fill up a whole day, but our time might be better spent on two topics, one in the morning, one in the afternoon. Some of these subjects (especially those in the training section) overlap somewhat. Most popular ideas (so far) seem to be project management, volunteer management, and increasing income. There are folks that think that two training items would be fine. There are folks that prefer one training thing and one visioning thing.
