Talk:Radio spot
A friend from basketballforum.com is in the radio business, so I asked him for some advice on this over AIM ...
here's a few problems with this spot. if you don't mind me being a bit critical heh It lacks a story Rule number 1 for effective spots is to tell a story this just throws info at you "It sucks computer waste, blah blah blah" that's what I hear nothing jumps out at me in comes the whiny "Where can I take my old hardware?" and by then I've tuned out the trick is finding the line where people won't tune away People don't listen to commercials because they like them... they tolerate them unless they are super annoying (think "Credit Yes.com!") I have some ideas that might work I'm good at writing ads with abstract ideas did I ever play my Forrestry services ad for you? that I did for the college let me find that http://www.divshare.com/download/1225566-51e this is an example of telling a story in a spot also notice the use of present tense words "He is doing this. He is doing that. He is learning" instead of "He did this. He did that. He learned." etc it's not glitsy. It's not super slick it's actually really basic but it gets the point across and that's the secret... less is often more for this kind of thing I mean, in that spot, there are 3 elements. Voice Over. Music, and Forrest sound effects
... he also says he's getting some ideas for it, I'll post anything he sends to me.
