Header
The Header defines who the parties are, who ownes the traidmark, and states that bolth parties are legaly bound to the text in the document. Matteo 08:33, 19 October 2006 (PDT)
Schedule A should be changed to what ever the name of the actual document we attach, - with this wording we would have ot provide a copy of the trademark paperwork. Matteo 09:51, 19 October 2006 (PDT)
ARTICLE 1 - GRANT OF LICENSE
2 lines, saying we give this to you and you except, may be subject to limitations, and is nontransrerable. Matteo 09:47, 19 October 2006 (PDT)
ARTICLE 2 - OWNERSHIP AND USE OF THE LICENSED TRADEMARKS
this firms up "ownership" and better defines what is owned and who does what paperwork. things more likeley should come out than be added to this section. Matteo 10:33, 19 October 2006 (PDT)
2.3 What, specifically, constitutes "unrelated business"? For example, FreeGeek Columbus included in their IRS filing that they may engage in political action, provided that said action represents a minimal portion of expenses. The specific wording of section 2.3 suggests that FreeGeek Columbus might be barred from using the name FreeGeek in conjunction with said political action, since it's not a core FG activity.
- Unrelated business could include certain political action, for instance supporting a candidate for office. and example of related political business would include supporting (or not supporting) legislation having to do with reuse, recycling etc. (I may amend this after I ask around the legal community)
ARTICLE 3 - FAIR USE PRINCIPLES
basically this is the freegeek principles Matteo 19:40, 19 October 2006 (PDT)
We may want to add "Prioritize the fate of equipment this way: Reuse, Recycle Locally, and always Responsibly choosing recyclers that can document their processes." to section 3.2 Matteo 19:40, 19 October 2006 (PDT)
Changed the formating to be the same as our principles, I think its easyer to understand than what I first wrote. Matteo 20:03, 19 October 2006 (PDT)
ARTICLE 4- DURATION OF LICENSE AND TERMINATION
how long this is good for, and what to do if situations change. There are 2 time limits definde are they practical? Matteo 10:45, 19 October 2006 (PDT)
ARTICLE 5 - PROTECTION
If there is one free geek in a ayrea, and a imitation opens up using a very sumular name, we will know what to do Matteo 18:04, 19 October 2006 (PDT)
ARTICLE 7 - INDEMNIFICATION
If we want this the wording we will need changes Matteo 13:24, 19 October 2006 (PDT)
IN WITNESS WHEREOF..... This links the signing to the date in the header and makes the document legaly binding. Matteo
