Trademark Use Form Letter

This form response is intended to be used to respond to people who email us who've begun to set up a brand spankin' new Free Geek and who have some questions. Hello! Thanks for your email. There has been a lot of interest across the country lately from people who've begun the process of starting their own Free Geek. We're enthused that the idea is catching. Right now, though, we can't give you a very good response to your inquiry, as we're in the middle of creating a franchising process so that we may better help new Free Geeks through all of the trials and tribulations it takes to start such a rich and varied organization.

So, what can you do? There are a few things you can check out:

- Join the startups list. You can to http://lists.freegeek.org/listinfo/startup to do so. This list is for people who'd like to startup Free Geeks (and for those who've already done so and would like to share information).

- Check out the rough draft of our Franchise Application and let it guide you through the wiles of our wiki. There's lots of information there, and perhaps at least some of your questions will be answered. http://wiki.freegeek.org/index.php/Free_Geek_Startup_Franchise_Application

Also, you're welcome to come to the Free Geek mothership for a week or two so you can get a better idea of how things work here, ask lots of questions, and enjoy some time in Portland. It's something that we'd eventually like all of the Free Geeks out there to do. If you can come to visit, let us know on the startup list or send an email to info@freegeek.org We'll be able to offer you a free homestay with one of our illustrious staff or volunteers.
