It seems to me that a major piece to infrastructure planning is to make sure that it is maintainable. This depends on how it is designed, and small changes now could have large consequences later.
In the name of meteor proofing...
Question: Where would a new system administrator look for documentation on the the activities and intentions, working assumptions, and daunting fears of previous admins if they had all been hit by meteors?
