In the 6/5/10 PR Meeting we decided to split up the basket of tasks and each PR member would take a kind of facilitator/jockey role.
Email Jockey
- contact: Ali
- Reviewing all incoming email to the PR list on a timely basis
- forwarding relevant emails to the internal PR list (initial triage)
- following up with each forwarded email notifying the sender that the email has been received
- notifying appropriate staff members for time sensitive emails
Tabling Events Coordinator
- contact: Laurel
- Research and respond to requests for Free Geek's presence at tabling events
- Evaluate events to make sure they were worth attending. (after the fact)
- Coordinate tabling events trainings.
- Maintain and organize tabling events supplies.
- Coordinate volunteers to attend tabling events. This does not include the coordinator attending all tabling events.
- If possible, delegate training to other employees/volunteers.
Press Release Wrangler
- contact: Luiz
- Responsible for overseeing the writing of press releases
- Responsible for identifying possible subjects (not exclusively)
- Sending out press releases to media
Newsletter
- contact: Ali
- responsible for managing publication schedule
- soliciting newsletter-worthy stories from staff and volunteers
- consolidating these stories
- copy-editing stories
- sending out newsletter
- this does NOT mean that the Newsletter Coordinator contributes all content for the newsletter
RBAF Liason
- contact: Luiz
- Be available to answer questions about staff structure, policy, and organization history as it pertains to PR and relationship building.
- Attend RBAF meetings, as needed
Website Working Group
- contact: Tony
Swag Coordinator
- contact: Laurel
- order new schwag. organize schwag. know where it is. document where it is. and how to order. This does not include hounding people to find out if new schwag is needed, but instead is intended to respond to requests for new schwag and to monitor schwag in schwag area.
Social Marketing
