The PR committee's regular meeting on May 9, 2009 has been set aside to be a long-term strategic planning session.

What do we want to achieve?

What is the current internal/external situation regarding each of our Objectives?

A place to throw around as many SWOTs as needed. The first one I'm starting is specific to PR's role in building Community Partnerships.

Objective: To craft long-term relationships with outside organizations that are beneficial to both parties.

Please define a goal for this SWOT

	Good (for Free Geek)	Bad (for Free Geek)
Internal (to Free Geek)	Strengths: Strengths are advantages we have that are internal to Free Geek and helpful to achieving the objective. (Good things we do.) We offer both recycling/green program, and social service element; can tailor message to meet partners' needs New website is up and lookin' slick Many great stories available regarding past grant recipients, as well as future ones (direct connection to donor's stuff)	Weaknesses: Weaknesses are problems we have that are internal to Free Geek and harmful to achieving the objective. (Things we do poorly or not at all.) Data Security is a work in progress
External (to Free Geek)	Opportunities: Opportunities are advantages we have that are external to Free Geek and helpful to achieving the objective. (Good things that will or could happen to us.) Great cred. in the community; we've given stuff to so many groups, so we already have an "in" with all of them. Ongoing discussions with potential community partners; many contacts already established with big players Many groups contacting us about potential events/projects Existing City partnership has excellent potential for PR	Threats: Threats are problems we have that are external to Free Geek and harmful to achieving the objective. (Bad things that will or could happen to us.) We're scrappy, which is great, but may be off-putting to corporate-types
