Borrow Book: Recording items that are being removed from Free Geek
List of Policies - Policy Development

Policy

Long standing policy, last approved by staff collective at meeting on July 16, 2010.

Any items leaving Free Geek for testing purpuses should be recorded in Borrow Book.

Notes

The borrow book is used to keep track of gizmos people borrow from us. The items usually recorded on a tracking sheet are as follows
  • projector
  • books from library
  • regular gizmos such as laptop, keyboard, etc.
  • miscellaneous items such as wireless print server
  • games on dvd-see Dave H of build
  • other items which are taken home to fix and will be returned
The borrow book has a tracking sheet that requires the following information
  • borrowers full name
  • geek membership number
  • staff initials of person who authorized the borrowing
  • Type and/or number of gizmo (put book title here instead)
  • reason for checking out gizmo (ex. for testing)
  • date borrowed and date returned
  • area where gizmo was returned .i.e. library
NOTE
The borrow book should be checked once a week for books listed. Librarian will call on status of books borrowed and get them back if needed.
